Conor Harrington and Miles Aldridge

These two artists are nothing alike ( maybe a grand use of color and subversive quality…maybe), except that I like them, ergo a post with both. Miles Aldridge‘s work reminds me a bit of LaChapelle, although I’m not sure who came first so maybe LaChapelle’s work reminds me of Aldridge. But either way, the bright colors and satiric undertones (overtones?) really draw me to these images.

Conor Harrington is a London based, Irish born, artist who paints ‘in his own words, ‘a series of cowboys as a metaphor for the politicians and bankers in Ireland that rode the country to near ruin’. Check out more on him at Juxtapoz where I stumbled on his work.
