Getting my paint on

So I’m feeling less fashion-y today and more like it’s an art kind of day. I was reading Artforum this morning and there is an article about Richard Prince’s new exhibition called ‘Covering Pollock’, so I thought I’d throw it out there to see what you folks think of it…I personally love a lot of his work but this set isn’t my favorite, although I do enjoy parts of it.:

Thoughts?

And because I’m posting about painting I have to say I have been doing quite a bit of it myself recently, so here is one of my paintings just because I feel like it. That’s right I did that.

And then last and greatest, here’s a Robert Rauschenberg to add to the friday awesomeness:

Fun for the day

Ok I have to just get this out there first and forefront, there is a trend right now that I really despise and don’t understand nor do I want to, mainly I just want it to go away. What is this all about? How do you folks out there in the world feel about this? Like? Dislike? Give me thoughts on… Animal Sweaters!

I mean seriously what the fuck is that? I get the ‘I’m so ironic that I can make something fashionable even though its nerdy’ hipster thing that some people have going on but this makes me think of bad high school art. Just want it to go away.

Ok, now that we have gotten that out of the way I can move on to some things that I adore. Oh yes I do.

Like Dutch people. So creative and quirky those Dutch folk. Check out this by Dutch designer Jantaminiau, which is partially made of cork. That’s kind of awesome and bizarre:

I stole this from i-donline.com

I also love this look, a twist on the classic prep:

Check out Vogue.com for more on this look

Want to call out this new hotel, which looks super cute and is in the nyc neighborhood Nolita (where I used to live and want to go back to everyday, mainly so I can eat at all my old fav restaurants. Cafe Gitane get in my mouth). Check out Jetsetter.com for the details yo.

And last but not least, this is beautiful…beware if you follow the link to see it on Anothermag.com it may give you a seizure.

Shoes please!

As much as I hate to admit it, fall is on it’s way. I don’t hate admitting it because I dislike fall, I actually quite like it, but I hate admitting it because I’ve not seen sun in 5 months because summer in SF is basically the saddest non-summer known to man and the arrival of fall only reminds me I’ve spend yet another summer not at the beach, not relaxing on green lawns with popsicles and the scent of sunblock…..but wrapped up in my Marmot (I’m from NY so donning sports attire as a daily fashion statement is like eating meat in my book…you just don’t do it) shivering in the fog. Perhaps fall will actually provide some reprieve and we’ll see some sun. One thing I know I can be excited about are boots and other darling fall shoes which are my favorite of all the seasons. Here are some of my favorites so far:

These wedge boots from JCrew.com look super stylish and comfy….love love love that color too, I think all of my boots are that color.

And these cowboy inspired booties from Revolve Clothing:

These Chloe boots are so classic and gorgeous they make me want to ride a pony and scream hiya or just put on riding clothes and saunter around the city,  either way is fine:

These Alexander Wang booties are hot and fantastic even though I would break ten ankles in them I would wear the shit out of them:

I just can’t get enough of some booties I tell ya, these puppies are from Sam Edelman:

These are sexy and affordable, yes please:

And last but not least we have these Chloe jammyjams, which knock my socks off cause they’re awesome…even though thats sort of annoying because I need my socks on to wear them because wearing boots without socks? ew. Wash yer feet!
