Best of Resort 2012, in my opinion

I don’t normally pay that much attention to every single season as far as fashion goes because there are so many iterations for each designer (fall, pre fall, resort, spring, blah blah) I just can’t keep up. However I kept coming across things from the resort 2012 shows that I loved so I’ve compiled some of my favorites for you (mostly images I borrowed from HarpersBazaar). I decided to start with Erdem because recently I’ve just had an over all love affair with their designs…but all the rest are just in random order.

Things that are awesome

I was going to make today’s post just about some of the awesome deals I got today, and that you people should have to but then I found some other amazing things I just had to share so this is going to be a whole lot ‘o random…..like Free People’s vegan leather Lookbook. That qualifies as awesome in my book. I don’t really like the leather look, even in vegan but at least some brands are finally figuring out that you can be stylish and humane. Check out the whole thing on Refinery29.com:

And things unfashion related but equally as awesome if you live in California, SFgate.com is offering half off on State Park membership so we should all take part and go take advantage of our beautiful outdoors (there’s no sense in only being fabulous inside right?):

I also wanted to add this lovely image for inspiration, Jennifer Connely in Balenciaga, because I saw the Balenciaga exhibit at the De Young here in SF recently (a couple weeks ago is recent right?) either way I’m still feeling inspired by it:

And then go to Greece! With this extended hotel deal from Tablet, which I actually dribbled coffee on myself (from my mouth!) while reading because it looks so glorious and totally unlike the dark room in which i currently sit in front of the computer:

Rodarte, Morocco and a really cool photo

So I’ve been in love with all things summer recently… until I came across Rodarte’s fall RTW collection. Now I want to embrace fall (which it permanently feels like in SF, and not in the good way) and don these amazing looks:

There is such a beautiful structure balanced with a sweet femininity that i love throughout most of the collection…until i saw this

Why is she wearing an amish table cloth? what is this?

Any way moving on to other inspirations for the day

    Be still my heart

I was drooling over the resort collecton from Prada on NYMAG.com and had to share, I’ve been a long time lover of Prada and have to be honest the last couple of collections have really been lackluster for me so I was so refreshed when I saw some of these pieces. Here are two:

And next up on the drool worthy list of the day are these shoes I found on Anthropologie. I don’t normally go for the over the top color blocking effect but these some how pull it together beautifully:

    Portable Art Platforms

A colorblocked collage of suede and patent leather covers these sculptural slip-ons from Kron by Kronkron.

    • Fits true to size
    • Leather upper, insole, sole
    • 4.25″ patent leather wrapped heel; 0.5″ platform
    • Spain
    $488.00
    STYLE # 22202741
    Shown In: Green
And as always here are some get away deals because in addition to thinking about and perusing through clothes I can’t afford i’m always looking for places to wear those hypothetical outfits…here’s a good lookin’ deal from bloomspot to France:
    France
Experience the tranquility of France’s scenic Loire Valley at Le Moulin Brégeon. With luxury suites, gourmet cuisine, famed local wines, and breathtaking gardens, this picturesque property treats guests to a quintessentially French experience. Tour the vineyards of the region from this elegant countryside destination. See Offer Details.

Or maybe Brazil is more your style?:

    A Boutique in Brazil’s Saint-Tropez
Insolito Hotel & Spa – Brazil
And this I’m adding (which I found on Flaunt.com) because sometimes fashion is ridiculous… completely and utterly ridiculous but i get it, cause I hate when I get in to a wrestling match with a light cord and one of my boobs falls out and I’ve accidentally worn my stockings on my face. Totally hate that.

Ok, that’s it ya’ll. Happy Monday!

    Summer fun

    A Surf Holiday

So I was feeling very summery today and all things that are summer…words like ethereal and oneiric come to mind. This collection of things have that feeling to me and make me want to get some sunshine!

Zara Dress With Draped Top, $39.99, available at Zara.

Anthropologie Gathering Breeze Dress, $258, available at Anthropologie

    And this cutie from Modcloth.com

And this I love love love and want to rub my face all over while sliding on a slip and slide and I know that doesn’t make sense but that’s how much i love it:
    Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit
    Dolce&Gabbana Bodysuit
Doesn’t this next dress just make you want to have a picnic and being all cutesy with a handsome person while gorging on snacky picnic foods?

Monki Nadja Dress, $49.91, available atMonki.

This nexty is a Cy Twombly painting that I love and thought i would throw in cause he died recently so it’s like an homage or what ever but more because i just like it and it inspires me.

    Take me away!

So I’m posting some more things today that are deals, some are just things I love today. Appropriately this first one is a deal from Groupon and Expedia (Groupedia?) to Antiqua, and I say it’s apropos because it’s the exact opposite of where I am which is in SF…in the fog….and the cold…

    uh…yes please!
Ok other things I am dreaming of today, this amazing dress from Valentino. Not that I have any where to wear it but I’d be happy just lounging around Antiqua in it :)
And something I can actually afford….I’m in need of this skirt from Asos.com:
    • Image 2 of ASOS Pleated Midi Skirt
    • Image 4 of ASOS Pleated Midi Skirt
    And this dress:
And last but not least a quick street shot from outside the paris fashion shows that i stole from nymag.com because I want to be this woman one day for so many reasons, including but not limited to, her awesome dress, her and that man are a super stylish couple, they are in paris and they collect couture.

Buy some clothes, eat some donuts and get your hair did!

I realized this morning, as with every other morning, that the first thing I do is check my iphone for emails. And as I refresh my inbox I’m inundated with deals and steals and coupons and groupons, ad infinitum. I’m sure there are a ton of really great offers but I’m usually so overwhelmed by the options that I delete them all. But today I decided I would start sharing some of them, just because I can’t make sense (or use) of them all doesn’t mean you all out there can’t use ‘em.

So what do we have today?
