Oh Red Carpet….why do you allure us so?

First I have to say…. I’m either old or don’t partake in nearly enough media watching because I didn’t know who half of the people walking down the red carpet were. Fear not! That will not stop me from scrutinizing them mercilessly saying how beautiful they look.

These are the best and the worst in my humble opinion. Starting from the top left I’ll just give a quickie review:

Sarah Hyland: Beautiful girl, with the dress of a grandmother

Jennifer Lawrence: I love this dress and I hate it, no,  I think I love it

Olivia Wilde: You’re not 5 yrs old, time to stop playing fairy princess

Jayma Mays: Classy, simple, love it

HBC: She can wear what ever she wants and still be awesome, that’s exactly what some one married to Tim Burton should look like

Natalie Portman: Beautiful, in a bathrobe sort of way

January Jones: I don’t understand, is she in a red band-aid??

Emma Stone: didn’t recognize her as a blondie, but digging the look

Scarlett Johansson: Cut off the sleeves and then I’d reconsider the rest of the dress

Julianne Moore: I want to love what ever she wears because she is a stellar actress, but alas, I cannot. This dress has to go

Naya Rivera: I don’t know who this is but she looks beautiful

Leighton Meester: Nice nightgown. Bad dress.

Sofia Vergara: again, I don’t know who this is but this dress… I do not like. Looks she-devil-y

Sandra Bullock: Beautiful nude color, still really want to rip those sleeves off

Brad and Angelina: Simple and clean lines, I love the green…. hate how smug they look

MD and CZJ: So elegant

SD and RDJ: I love that he opted for something other than black

Amy Adams: The color of this dress is perfect but not with that growth on her shoulder. why?

Anne Hathaway: A little Dynasty, but I’m totally in to the throw back

Halle Berry: Left her dress at home?

Michelle Williams: A little too Granola-flower-child for me

Christina Hendricks: Is that another Christina growing out of her shoulder?

Harry Shum: Awesome.

Ryan Gosling: I love you Nice velvet suit

Sunshine and Mark: Leave her and marry me Both very classy in black

The forgotten handbags

I just did a post about handbags for spring, and I realized I needed to add a couple choice items that I sadly left behind and are worthy of adding to my wish list:

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Kling bag available at Modcloth.com

I also found this feature on Style.com that’s my new best friend, it’s an accessory search feature and I want everything.

Spring handbag Shopomatic

Spring just can’t get here fast enough frankly, it’s cold and dark and I’m over it. I want sunshine! And almost as much as I want sunshine I want a new bag. I’ve thoroughly out worn the bag I have and am in desperate need of a new one (can we say; dumped a bottle of Scope mouthwash in my bag accidentally? Don’t ask why it was in there in the first place). Since I’m doing the shopping I thought I would share some of my findings. Here are some at varying price ranges that I particularly like and may just buy:

Diroana by Aldo

Side-Pocket Satchel by Gap

Khaki Canvas Satchel Bag by Topman

Suede Flap Tassel Chain Cross-Body Bag by Topshop

Seed Bag by Club Monaco

Mick by Matt & Nat

Dayton Duffle by Fossil

Ramones by Matt & Nat

Dieppe by 1971 Reiss

Pale Gray Washed-Canvas Satchel by DKNY

Trapunto Flap Group Satchel by Nanette Lepore

A new year

So I have been pretty much been a huge slacker on this blog, but it’s a new year! And I’ve decided to seek out some new looks. I’m completely bored to tears with my current style (read: lack of) so I’m starting out the new year with a post choc full of inspiration and things I love right now!

The Universally Flattering Trend: Graceful Drapery (Thakoon Addition)

Click the image above to see the slideshow of all the looks on NYMAG.com…. lots of beautiful dresses…. the drapes are perfect for hiding the soft spots.

I love these even if I would break my ankle in them; and can NOT afford them.

Boudoir Look on the runway

I adore this look and it makes feel like spring…… speaking of spring:

Valentino

I want to own this now.

Finally this next one is just because it feels so whimsical:

Everything about my trip to spain inspires me to not get bored with the every day and try new things so i included a pic as part of my inspiration

Ok so that’s what I have for today….. Let me know what you think and post some of your style inspirations!
